Silver Key Senior Services
Silver Key serves in partnership with our stakeholders to support quality of life for seniors— allowing them the choice of safely aging in place with dignity and independence.
Silver Key Senior Services was founded in 1970 to improve the quality of life for those in nursing homes.
From these humble beginnings, a Nursing Home Volunteer Program was introduced to help alleviate the effects of isolation and loneliness for elderly persons living in local care facilities. It was not long before Silver Key broadened its mission to include seniors who desired to remain in their homes as they aged. Now, at nearly 50 years, and with 72 employees and 558 volunteers, Silver Key has sustainably built upon the core fundamentals of our trusted “wraparound” programs to serve more than 10,000 aging adults annually. Transportation to medical appointments, accessibility to healthy meals and nutrition education, and obtaining experienced Case Management assistance with housing, utilities, mental health and benefit paperwork are a few examples of how Silver Key is providing essential services critical for seniors to live independently and remaining engaged. Silver Key is also actively addressing the serious crisis in the lack of safe, affordable housing for our older population in Colorado Springs. Funding was secured to hire a specialized senior Housing Navigator, the first of its kind in El Paso County.
Silver Key’s vision of “making the greater Colorado Springs area the best in the nation to age” is supported by our mission: to support quality of life for seniors, allowing them the choice of safely aging in place with dignity and independence. Since 1970, Silver Key has helped more than 250,000 seniors remain safe, healthy and independent.
